The
greatest resource of any organization is the men and women who dedicate their
professional careers to its function. Working for the Walker Police Department
is more than just a job, it is a commitment to doing "whatever it
takes" to protect and serve the citizens of Walker. Fulfillment of this
commitment requires the men and women of the Walker Police Department to
approach each day cognizant of the obligation to hold themselves to higher
ethical and moral standards in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of
their assigned jobs.
At
the Walker Police Department, we hold the "public trust" very
sacred. This trust is at the heart of our support and must be ensured if we
are to perform our mission to the "Town of Walker" to the fullest.
Public trust can only exist when we, as the Police Department in Walker,
perform our duties with
fairness, equity, professionalism, and vigor. Fundamental to this is the
process by which we hire our officers. While the ability to perform job tasks
is of substantial importance, we are also intent on recruiting candidates
possessing the character necessary to uphold the highest standards of
integrity and to withstand the temptation to deviate from these standards.
Thank you and God Bless,
Hunter Grimes,
Chief Walker Police Department
Our
Mission
Gods Word tells us in Joshua 1:18 "This book of the law shall not depart
out of thy mouth; but thou shalt mediate therein day and night, that thou
mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou
shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Our mission at the Walker Police Department is to enforce the Laws of the Land
with professionalism, courtesy and integrity. To Serve and Protect the people
of Walker in order that it may be a safe and friendly place to live and visit;
a place that always feels like home. We will persistently keep up front and
foremost - God, Country and Honor.
